Exposure ALEX WORK

Exposure
aperture and the shutter speed

The aperture and the shutter speed work alongside each other so we can have a good exposure and control on the type of image we want, for example, a full in-depth image or only a specific section of the image and the rest is blurry, or if we want to catch a image that is moving but in a still motion, see examples below.

The light that enters the lens that is recorded on the sensor at each stop is always the same amount of the light entering but, only the exposure is changed, so we have control on the type of image we want to capture.

So if we change the shutter speed we must change the depth of field numbers e.g. the ‘f’ numbers.

Faster speed—freezing the motion

shutter and aperture speed

1) 1/60   f 9

2) 1/11   f 9

3)  1/10  f 5.6

4)

5) 1/100  f 9
FULL DEPTH
low shutter speed and higher f number than the one below

6) 1/200 f 5.6
SMALL DEPTH
higher shutter speed and lower ' f 'number than the one above

7) 1/4  f36

8) 1/8  f20

9) 1/160  f 5.6

10) 1/125  f 5.6
