His unique work has been featured on the outside and the inside of many international publications, art galleries and photo exhibitions.
SHAUN transforms ordinary objects into exquisitely beautiful, sexy and mysterious image.

Shaun Alexander photographer
Shaun Alexander photographer has his own studio and a fashion team of experts that specialist in fashion studio in Los Angeles. SHAUN is a fashion, advertising, editorial photographer and he has his own unique style which he has used for the last two decades worldwide.

i have chosen 1 black  which because  it look 's classical and high -lights can be seen more clearly..

The light falls on the lady's face and hair more and the man is on the shade side.
To get lighting like this in the studio is very difficult and lots of practice is needed.
The lady looks very lady and the man looks more muscular, in the shads like a protector looking straight into the viewer of the image and the women looking also at the viewer but from the side and she is wearing pearls.

My 2 image by SHAUN is in colour and painting is involved.  The reason i chose that image below is because i loved the way he has used landscape with fashion and is eye catching for me and any one who has love for landscape.

Why I chose this image out of hundreds?

Strong bold colours

Colours of the rainbow

White clean, fresh colour of the lady’s top with blue flower patterns like the white sky and light blue cloud colour and on the other side of the top, yellow and violet peaceful lavender plants that are relaxing to the mind that blend into the path of the ground.

Her skin tone is soft yet the colour can blend in with the twigs on a sunning day with the sun shining on it.  Her eyes are bright and are staring right into the camera lenses furthermore her eye balls have been changed so so white that they stand out.  The eye make-up on the left eye is like the flower that blends in with the whole picture and the eye ball represents the carpel of the flower.  On the other side of the face near the eye area, they are patterns of flower patels that are also in the same black make-up.
The lip colour is pastel pink so the views eyes are drown to the eyes and the rest of the image but not so much on the lips.
The cap holds it all, the wild forest, trees branching out from the foot of the cap that is near the eyes, the eyes are the main focus point.  The rainbow colours of the cap with mostly the purple and violet colours.  The light is on the right side of the cap and on the left side of the cap there is much less light so that one side looks more like the forest colour, brown and green land.
Beside the beauty of the flowers, land, the rainbow colours and the beauty of the lady make-up, the picture is also showing fine art and digital work advertising.
(This above image had no name but was in the site know as silent storm shadow)

3rd image

I chose a neutral images, even though the colour it’s more of a neutral colour and the lighting is really good and powerful but looks unrealistic.
The contrast and the brightness is balanced the strands, even the strands of her hair can be seen clearly and the outfit can be seen clearly.  In the first image the name of the corporation Alice Abraham is in capital letters can be seen clearly even through the colours match the
image.  the lady;s pose is very muscular even-thought she looks sexes due to pearls and one leg not covered with the dress.

it looks as if air brushing has been used, lots of work in Photoshop has been done for example, eyes have improved, lips, skin, and colour changes made but, to get good end results.

A  little more about fashion Photographer,

SHAUN Alexander

At the moment he and his team are based in Los Angeles CA who is highly specialize in fashion photography but they are not restricted to one city or one style, this can be seen from the example images I have chosen below.

Shaun's background is in art and photography.
His photography work is very creative in the area of fashion, advertising, glamour, beauty, lingerie, boudoir, vogue style journalistic, weddings, fine art and black and white photography.
SHAUN has had many awards for print ads, album covers, CD cover, and magazine covers worldwide. The images are unique, stunning, and highly professional and most of his images by looking at them may have been through Photoshop.
SHAUN has been an established professional photographer since 1985, for over two and a half decades, he has captured millions of extraordinary images.

His genius mind and creativity combined with his flawless eye for details and is one of the best and the most sought photographers in his home town, Los Angeles, California.

He is a person who can bring a wow factor to his images no matter how big or small the job is and it can be seen clearly.

DAVID Bailey,    most of his work is in black and white with light an the key feature is to focus.

David Bailey is an  English photographing and has produced outstanding for the last five decades. He made his mark capturing images normal people and later became stars of the new generation, his images were eye catching and noticeable even thought most of his work is in black and white.  DAVID'S work including models for example, Jean Shrimpton and Penelope Tree.  Ever since then his work has never failed to strike and inspire the critics.

DAVID has captured iconic images of legends such as: The Rolling Stones, the Kray twins, Damien Hirst and Kate Moss.

His black and white studio images taken in the studio are so powerful due to the use of studio lighting on images and your eyes are automatically drawn to the section of the image, see examples below;

Kate Moss portrait,
In this image DAVID has tried to put across the true nature of the subject, in this case Kate Moss beauty, the light is on the one eye and the lower shoulder of the body and other side of the shoulder has less light, the hand also the light, therefore your eye is automatically drawn to the eye which is the powerful section of the portrait.   The other eye is covered by the hair yet the hair is well light and glowing.

I think framing & lighting set-up is the most important in a studio, even though lighting set-up can only be 1 or 2.  In this case can be a front lighting.

My 2nd image is of Jack Nicholson, why?
Its different yet show the true expression of him usually seen in films. Yet the below, image has a good composition, strong facial language and possibly would stand out of a crowd and something to talk about when you see this portrait, not just look at it and forget it.
Plus it does make you smile and you do look at it.

Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986)

“Colours and shapes make a more definite statement than words.”

— Georgia O'Keeffe, 1976

             An American Icon

Georgia O'Keeffe was one of the most significant and intriguing artists of the twentieth century who painted the beauty of flowers.  All her life was devoted to it after her education.

Not only did she painted flowers but also glowing landscapes, and images of bones against the stark desert sky's.

Early Life and Education

Born on November 15, 1887, the second of seven children, Georgia Totto O’Keeffe grew up on a farm near Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. As a child she studied  art at home.  By the time she graduated from high school in 1905, she had determined to make her way into the artist world.

O’Keeffe studied at the Art Institute of Chicago (1905–1906) and the Art Students League in New York (1907–1908).

Below are some examples of flowers that I experimented with, mainly the peach rose flowers.  She was my inspiration with other research that i have not said.

also tried the TINEYE WEB SITE to find the photography but was unable.

my modern met gallery, i took lots inspiration from it but was unable to find the photography.   The image of the ring was very good and the way the person is wearing the white glove so the colour of your skin does not show.

Yves Saint Laurent dresses autumn 1965

Designer Yves Saint Laurent, the dresses he designed in autumn 1965.

Yves Saint Laurent was a European fashion designer.  He was born on August 1, 1936 in Oran, Algeria and died in 2008.
As a teen, he went to in Paris to work for a designer Christian Dior and gained success for dress designs.  In 1966, he launched his own fashion labels, where he made his name in the fashion world for women.
He was the first living designer to receive a solo exhibition in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1983.
He died in Paris from brain cancer.

STILL LIFE AND NATURE

I took inspiration from designer Yves Saint Laurent,  the fashion designed in autumn 1965.  I have put roses in each box in different  times of their blossoming  and in the bottom each flower different stages of blossoming times of  each flower.
the reason i did this, was to put it in the shop, as some people want roses in different stages of blossoming depending on the  special occasion.

There are flowers below at with white background.

 metallic on white background

this image was taken in a white tent with a for lights one in each side and one in front of the image.
i had the setting how the white tent was set up but my blogger was all lost some how when using someone's iPod and all the work had to be repeated so not to much writing was repeated  image was not saved.

pleased with the above image but the above image was taken in a tent and setting up the stoudio with paper background is not each as

I am pleased with the image above, however i did use the dodg tool in Photoshop and crop tool

portrait with white background
this is a good photo, i feel if the lights on either side were balanced it may have been better, but the lights were a distance from the subject as the paper could not be cut.
did use a crop tool in  Photoshop

lights used
2 continuous lights on either side facing more to the background

I am pleased with the image above, however i did use the dodge tool, the crop tool and some pink colour to give it some glow and life.

lights used
2 continuous lights on either side facing more to the background and the flash

something one can change the background if the subject wants to have a change from a white background to something they want.  it is much easier.

this is the original photo that have had no touches and the light settings can be seen

only

portrait on white background
cropping has been carried out
i do like fthis photo as it is well in focus and there is a sparkly in the subject eyes plus the hair strands can be seen clearly

portrait on white background
this image has not been change but has been cropped

this is the original photo that have had no touches and the light settings can be seen  but has been cropped
below is the same photo as the above that had a level key used  to make the background image look whiter

in this below image, you can see the roses blossoming in different stages.

the above pitures had some touches like the use of brightness to make the background more whiter

I this above image you can see a simple arrangement of roses with only four roses as the the peach rosed are expensive it is possible to arrange them.

not enough lighting on on side.  only two lights were used, due to the paper cutting it was not possible for me to use a light at the back of the image.  waiting for paper.
however, did use four lights for metallic and feathers in the white tent, see below.

original but not the above  one.

Evaluation

Still life on white background,  metallic on white background and portrait , fashion on white background.
THIS WAS A GOOD TASK, FROM IT I LEARNED HAVING A WHITE BACKGROUND MADE THE ITEM STAND OUT BETTER AND THERE IS NOTHING IN THE BACKGROUND TO CONFUSE THE COSTUMER.  HOWEVER SAYING THAT SOMETIMES IT DOES HELP IF THERE IS A SIMILAR ITEM IN THE BACKGROUND WHICH CAN EVOKE A PERSON MEMORY TO BUY A ITEM THAT THEY DONT NEED.

SEE BELOW

TO GET A WHITE BACKGROUND IT WAS NOT EASY AND I USED 3 TO 4 WHITE CONTINUOUS LIGHTS.
IT WAS ALSO IMPORTANT TO BALANCE THE LIGHTS OUT WHEN TAHT WERE USES ON EITHER SIDE IF NOT ON CREATED A GREYISH MARK ON WHITE SIDE AND EVEN-THOUGHT DOGE TOOL WAS USED IN PHOTOSHOP,   ITS NEVER PERFECT AND ITS TIME CONSUMING IF YOU HAVE LOTS IMAGES TO DO AND YOU ARE ON A TIME SCALE WERE YOU ARE WORKING.

MY BEST PITURES WAS STILL LIFE OF FLOWERS.   SEE BELOW,
